An entirely practical workshop involving all teaching staff who need to develop or measure specific transversal competencies in their subject.
We begin with the competencies already present and work together on how to detect and evaluate them in the classroom. Through evaluation questionnaires, teachers are trained to observe skills through exercises that teachers themselves design. Usually, they are exercises which are used in their subjects to develop the skill. This allows:
- us to evaluate the competency in oneself
- analyze whether the exercises used in class are suitable for developing it
- assess the teaching methods used and how to improve them in order to enhance the competency
- determine if the exercise is appropriate for that grade level
Following the workshop, all teachers agree upon a series of indicators and we adapt the evaluation rubrics. Teachers are equipped with the tools to measure this competency which they can then apply in their own classrooms.
Skills which we've worked on in the classroom have included:
- management skills and
- analytical problem solving with creativity.
Esther has accompanied the group with skill and professionalism in the workshop ..
.. "Development of the competency: Analytical Problem Solving with creativity."
.. We've made improvements which affect our teaching while vastly enjoying the experience. The troubleshooting workshop encouraged us as a group to deepen and experiment with the development of this skill with our students. Some of the techniques we have worked with have been very useful in designing training activities for our students.
The course has been very useful, entertaining and practical. All in all a very good learning experience!
